Although this picture was taken an unspecified time before, the Japanese government released this photo of a "giant" squid. It was apparently 26 feet long with another 16 feet of tentacle, total 42 feet. These animals have long been very elusive, hunting only at night and hiding deep in the day. What intrigues me is the stories of lifeboat survivors in the war. There would be a few dozen men on the raft overnight. But in the morning, without a sound that awoke anybody, all those men wearing yellow life preservers had disappeared. Strange nobody has ever researched that topic.
