This is the first day I know of where I deliberately recorded the day's events.
I wrote it on some light green paper, quoting a poem I thought was relevant.
I kept much of those original papers for years.
But having no permanent or safe place to keep them, all that's left is the memory.
I recall the the poem:
"Hooray, hooray, the First of May."
But it was the naughty boy scout version.
I was dating Pearle, my first girlfriend.
My band was "All The King's Men", no relation to the other band.
I had nothing but thought I stood a chance.
We heard about student protests, but they were so far away.
The farm was 355 miles from the nearest real city.
