Day 44. I slept through till 9:30 p.m. tonight. I took down, the assistant manageress for dinner. It was first class all the way, and I learned how to say D-4 in Siamese. Say “So-lop-so lye”.
[Author's note: I had returned to Thailand, and I've long since forgotten what the phrase means, but it must be something nice. “D-4” was a coding system I use back then but no way in the bother looking up a single phrase.]
