[Author's note 2023: normally a cryptic entry like this would get lost in the dust. But I remember it well because of another similar scam that is making the rounds. It is the banks with the "free $300" for opening an account. If you don't obey a very strict regimen for the next two years, that free money reverts to a loan with a 29.99% interest rate from the day you opened the account--not the day you missed a deadline.
You may notice none of the web-pages that blurb this offer spell out on-line what the pitfalls are. They include (in various forms) failing to make minimum deposits, or purchases, or in some cases even closing the account for up to five years.]
