March 15, 2003

Here’s another rare photo with nothing to do with today’s report. This is me, at around 22, skinny and wearing my favorite shirt. I’m pretending to offer Charlie’s girlfriend’s sister money for sex. (His girlfriend had the unlikely name of Orna Oliphant.) Actually the sister, who was a snappy little ferret, was waiting outside for the band to arrive in the van. In the background is the monster house seven or eight of us lived in for a year. It overlooked the downtown from the beautiful southwest end.
Yes, we had lots of color photography when I was 22. What’s happening here is we lent the only camera we had to the lead player, Tim Campbell. He tried to open it from the wrong site and broke the case. If you look very closely, you can see an overdeveloped strip down the far right side. We were using cheap black and white film to see if we could fix the problem, hence, this nice picture. Now back to 2003.
It must have been a weekend. The only entry is a list of books I browsed at the library in Hialeah. If you ever want to hide out in Florida, a library is a good choice.

  • Last Days of the Third Reich, James Lucas, Morrow & Co. New York, 1986

[Author’s note: I recall the idea of that day was to find some of the original works by Lewis and Clarke. The spelling and grammar mistakes are hilarious. Sadly, all the copies I found were edited.]
