This is Will tuning up the Fender at our normal practice location, the abandoned lot behind Jimbo’s. That is piles of coral rubble in the background. Will still has to tune the guitar by looking at the front, as shown here. He spent an hour last evening intensely practicing his first tune, Nancy Sinatra’s “These Boots”, and does a respectable job of it. Do you suppose other people got such a fancy start with their music? Will all this become very meaningful when we burn our first CD?
I’m certainly glad the ships, planes and helicopters so quickly found those two pilots who went down in the Gulf of Mexico. The two airplanes “disappeared” without a trace. I consider it a near-disaster. Not the crash, but how near mankind came to yet another History Channel series on triangles and abductions. Whew, that was close!

I kind of envy this band “Fired Up”, who played Jimbo’s last night. In another way, I don’t, because they are a full four piece group playing to a nearly empty house of regulars. They kind of blow my little act out of the water, but then again, good music is what is putting Jimbo's on the map. In fact, if you look close, there it is on the map - just west of Bermuda . . .
Prior to all this, I was at the shop looking for work. Even before that, I was trapped at [this here] house (trailer) at length, accommodating Pudding-Tat. It is not like you can just set out ordinary food and water for dear darling beloved dearest precious little sweetheart princess. Is that what you thought? You have been led astray. Her Highness is not to be ignored.
Let’s see some true cat-lovers out there, a show of hands. I thought so. We are talking the obligatory two-minute belly rub every time you hit the can or walk past, don’t even plan a short-cut because she knows when you are on the throne (and helpless). Or how about that curl up and purr in the face at night? That cat-person’s ultimate dream; don’t you just love wet cat-breath at 2:52 a.m.? H-th-rrrrr, h-th-rrrrr!

Another long day examining the job situation and it just does not look good. What worked great for me last time was a temp agency. I went on a six week job that “could last up to two months” and was there five years. I’ve likely mentioned that often. There is an agency in Ft. Lauderdale, although for the same lousy pay, I’ll look around here for something. Just to get by until a teaching position comes up.
Here is the situation. While there are a lot of jobs, they are often very specific in the types of specialization required. Good examples are Great Plains, JD Edwards and any software exclusive for industry specific estimating. Unless you’ve worked with these packages, you haven’t worked with these packages and not one of the jobs will train you. That is why I’m learning Quickbooks. More than likely, whoever wants a Quickbooks operator will want the 20-year-old gal that goes with it.

Ah, think of the bright side. My last clerical job paid about the same and I was banking $1,200 a month on that. Plus the job was a lot of fun and not too demanding once you learned the ropes. Plus there was a library on the way home. Who could ask for anything more?
The trivia. Which country has over 600 million cell phones in use, that is, twice as many cell phones as in the United States? Hint, they also produce twice as much steel as the rest of the entire world combined. Ah, you already guessed it right—China.
