Yesteryear
One year ago today: November 12, 2022, seventy bucks in materials.
Five years ago today: November 12, 2018, WIP
Nine years ago today: November 12, 2014, weak, third-rate people.
Random years ago today: November 12, 2016, unbelievable amounts.

At 6:43AM, I received notice of an emergency in Tennessee. I disappointed myself that I could not leave instantly. I had to pay the utility bill, mail the taxes, lock up the sheds, use the ATM, and load up the van for starters. It seems the Reb has been bitten by some vicious pitbulls that got out a patio door. I don’t know the details much, not that I’d give out a lot anyway. Her arm is badly damaged and that right there propels this into a major situation.
Averaging a little over 85 mph, the traffic is unusually heavy but moving well. I stopped in Bushnell for gas and tried to find one of those snack trays. The only had the huge size, so I grabbed a box of chicken a six-pack of small Cokes, and a bag of rice cakes. That was $23. I made the Georgia border in four hours, Macon around 5:30PM and pulled into Nashville after 10-1/2 hours on the road. I did this once before, but it was after COVID and there was at that time no traffic in the way.

I got the pets an extra snack and bedded down. I talked with the hospital and Reb’s best friend, she is all doped up. She was in surgery for 5-1/2 hours. The good news is her tendons were not damaged. But this is mainly third-party information. From what I think they said, she should be coming home by Thursday. The pets all go into a funk when she is missing. I got here just in time, or they will stop eating. Not forever, but long enough to stress her out. That is not allowed on my watch. We tried to chat by phone but hospitals don’t skimp on painkillers in this situation. You will have to check back for any news, I’ve got to shop and get things in order.
