Reading this? I must be in Miami. A text arrived of a Monday cancellation and I jumped on it. But I have no way of reporting it because I have no tablet and the current form factor of laptops is unsuitable. They are okay for the Starbucks squad, who like to lug them along to pretend they are working, but not for me. The tablets of today lack a decent word processor and we do not do subscriptions or rent software. We have that third IQ-digit that prevents such stupidity.
That’s a good one, the number of people who would say that makes me old fashioned, out-of-touch, and unaware of the thousands of wonderful apps they use. It rarely occurs to such people they are the ones reading my work, but the point is—who is really behind the times? Can anyone name one procedure on a computer that I have not trialed, tested, and probably rejected? Take your time--hey, Glen, I said "procedure", not some obscure virus app from your last unwitting "upgrade".

Are you texting? Not me, it is slower than Morse, and I only do it because others have left no other options, that is, they are living in the past. Are you word-processing personal letters? Not me, I quit that back in 1996 for all important people. If they are important, you can hand-write. The strange part is this is not “old” behavior, when you think about it. All the “new” apps of today are careful remarketing of ancient ideas packaged up for the moron masses. Did you know there are people out there who actually think bulletin boards are something new if you call them “Instagram”.

The ironic part, I like to repeat, is how all these millennials and GenX people will, by 2045, be taking senior remedial classes on how to do these basic tasks needed for daily survival in a post-Boomer world. A world where nothing works right and those who once fancied themselves computer-clever are now living on rationed food and electricity.

Here are videos to keep you up to date until I get back. All pics and video are current, many same day. Yeah, it’s work, but you are worth it.
