Yesteryear
One year ago today: March 8, 2021, let’s talk money.
Five years ago today: March 8, 2017, early electrical wiring here.
Nine years ago today: March 8, 2013, potato skins, yeppers.
Random years ago today: March 8, 2018, early car budget woes.

vvA refreshing overnight rainshower. The latest “approved” COVID vaccine lists nine (9) pages of side effects. The stock market continues to “adjust” tanking millions of IRA dollars from people stupid enough to play the stock market with their retirement money. Silver inches upward but I’m not watching closely until it passes $100 per ounce. People aren’t falling for the Ukraine hustle, it seem Biden has even bungled World War III. Their speakers are tripping up, they seem to have not learned once you lie, you have to keep on lying. That’s why I’m glad I have so much coffee stockpiled. I can sip and watch in complete comfort as the woketards unravel.
The hillbilly has still not showed up, so he is no longer allowed to leave the doggie here any more. I either have to take the dog or chain him up, and I don’t have the chain. He eats through rope. Something has gone wrong, but I can’t let it become my problem. I’ve finally got the red cardinals into the back yard, that’s the closest I want to having pets, at least in theory. This morning around 5:00AM there was some distant gunfire to the south.

The hillbilly showed up around 8:30AM, after Cash & I had the big breakfast. Chicken & rice. Prepared differently, of course, I thought I had a three day supply until I asked the hillbilly if he’d eaten. I instructed him he had to get rid of his stuff today and he begged three garbage bags off me. Sorry, he’s overstayed his welcome. I had planned on heading into Miami as early as last Saturday when I told him not to be gone more than an hour. His raves about my fried rice for breakfast don’t wash much, I know it’s the best. Because I learned it in China, that’s how.
See this quadcopter? It has five times the range of electric, because it is gas-powered. Will it fly? Not without a lot more work. See the number of tethers holding it in place. That’s because gas engines don’t respond to instant commands. Stability will be a real problem. Why not have the gas engine power an electric generator? I don’t know, I don’t work for those people. Speaking of stability problems, I recently read a large article on why, starting back in WWII, the US Navy never trained women on the non-combatant role of telegraph operator.
I’m not referring to combat patrols, but radiomen were often sharper than average and fit for duty, but were held stateside in clerical positions by the thousands. In later wars, equally huge numbers of men had to be held back to work the telegraph equipment. Why? The answer, biased as it seems, was that women consistently were unable to keep up a steady rhythm. I was totally unaware of that until I read reports that the men missed the women and were often caught sending messages for them.

Slate this day up to logistics, not much else got done. It was fun with the downside that I agreed the hillbilly could chain up the dog behind the fence for a few days while he cleans up all his stuff from the yard. The snag is Cash thinks when I’m here he’ll be on the sofa beside the A/C. Not so. The hillbilly really did put in a full day but the stuff isn’t all gone yet. I’m well aware of how things accumulate. Here is an interesting picture that’s resulted from the long-term mining operations in this vicinity. My town is built atop mine tailings and here a photo of nothing unusual. As the rain reveals, there are two types of soil in my own back yard.
The rich “tree” side and the parched dry side, despite both getting the same amount of rain. I’ll try to mix the types together but honestly, I’ve had no luck doing that. In the end, both sides take to planting less I’m transferring three other plants to the back with no expectation they can survive. All are cactus-like, not that I’ve much choice. I also picked up some 1x3” on sale, not treated. But with enough linseed oil, I think I can trim the silo to look a bit professional.
Before they rezoned when a railroad line was here (they say, I don’t know), the city limits ran right through this property. Also, the county line was this side of the street, making this address appear in a township that no longer exists. Talk about my stealth house.

The world is being treated to a spectacle that will never be forgotten. Political companies like McDonalds and IKEA are shutting down outlets in Russia. It seems to me if you want to punish someone, you strive to shut down things that are good for them, duh. This stupid war is the defining moment of the Biden era, as nobody is going to believe him blaming this one on Trump. It’s too blatant the way he shut down the American pipeline to buy Russian oil because his detested son worked in the Ukraine. Now gas in some places is $7 per gallon, usually a huge indicator of who gets elected and not—watch the Democrats lower the price to $6 just before the mid-terms and claim that as a victory.
Ha, have you seen the Africans in the Ukraine chanting, “Let us go home.” That figures, they are only there for the good times. If they won’t fight for freedom back where they live, don’t expect them to fight for it in any white country they flee to. If America made a law no welfare for anyone until they’ve been here 15 years as a taxpayer, there would be no need for a border wall. Do not come to America unless you have a marketable skill.

ADDENDUM
Jimmyr, that leftist douche, still rates here because he is consistent and posts daily. Today he mentions Ford over an event I knew was coming, but wondered why it was taking so long. The modern world has not needed this antiquated “car dealerships” or their markups since the Internet came along. I see it as a dinosaur that exists only because Ford can’t let them down gently. But, with EVs, I think they just did. Prices on these cars are no negotiable and ordered direct from the assembly line. This I take as good news, as there are just too many crooked dealerships out there who don’t honor a warranty and I never did like the salesman philosophy.
I felt any for sale should do so mainly on its own merits. I’ve held some sales jobs but did not care for the meetings, or as I called them, indoctrination settings. The customer is rarely right, but I’ll treat him that way. Just quit expecting me to believe it. I’ve met people are sincerely good at sales, but they are a tiny slice. There is also talk that millennials have a low tolerance for wheeling & dealing but that’s confusing their motive with the lack of skills to do so. Either way, if it spells the demise of the glad-handing grinning sales boob, I’m for it.

The Verge reports Google is soon to release “Harassment Management”, a tool for journalists. It sifts through social media and lets far left journalists decide for themselves if they feel abused. They will. Then it proceeds to letting them block, mute, filter, delete, cancel and all things associated with those who think reporting fake news is free speech.
