Aha, Trump is sending in the troops and the backlash from the radical left is deafening. Nothing to report today, except it is Festus Tuesday. Funny the left had no problem sending the military to enforce their fake COVID lockdowns. Actually, it is damn strange how many people still talk about the pandemic as if it was real. Totally debunked, but they persist. Myself? I don’t care one way or the other, I just don’t want to hear about it. Same goes for food allergies.
The real news is Trump declaring the cartels a terrorist organization, which means (I think) he can send in the Marines. Or bomb their hideouts. Of course, Mexico, who harbors these gangs, will scream something about sovereignty, but the world knows their economy depends on illegal drugs. Trump vows to make DC the safest world capitol in a move already dubbed “Operation Bye-Bye Bums”. I tend to agree. At some point it’s no longer a protest, the intention is to bother people.
The laws surrounding this move are already in place. What’s lacking is the will to enforce them. The DC police chief, under questioning, revealed she has no idea who her boss is and does not understand the concept of “chain of command”. But what do I care about DC? My anger today is the dork who invented this stupid little tin thing that is supposed to be the stand for your soldering iron. He can stick it.
When I grocery shop, I sometimes run my numbers through the EBT (food stamp) web site to see what’s changed. It’s constantly in the news for abuse. There are a ton of rules and regulations, but nobody pays attention since you never hear of anybody getting arrested except the welfare queens. I doubt if one person in a hundred on food stamps actually needs them. But there is a point even I would be tempted and that point is $200 per month. Hmmmm, on my next birthday it says here since I have a medical condition, I could get $244. I’m thinking.
This is a can of SPAM classic, but I could not find the traditional wrapper. It is now $3.88 per can unless you get the half-cans which are $2.88. A blatant rip-off on the poor, I mean who else buys half a can? It was SPAM sandwiches for lunch due to my Air Canada theory from the 1980s. It works like this. If you eat healthy, your system adapts to health. But sooner or later, you will find you have to eat really bad food and that means you should once in a while keep up your resistance by eating airplane food. Laugh if you want, but with each passing season, such pure logic is getting harder to find.
Trivia: English has four times as many nouns (around 1,515,000) than all other languages combined. And around 75% of all English words are nouns. More trivia, one of the motives behind the English fighting to keep the American colonies was the supply of ship wood. The countryside in England had long been denuded of large trees, and the best known supply was along the coastlines from South Carolina to eastern Texas. Live oak is best for cross timbers and white pine planks get stronger and more waterproof as they dry.
It says here an East Bay family received an $8,000 medical bill for a 0.3 mile trip. I believe it because I was billed $8,100 for nine miles in 2003. Inflation is up 65% since then, so that is over $13,000 today. It is insurance that causes these massive medical bills. The medical profession is a greedy one—and it starts with the horrendous costs of getting a medical degree.

Something is going to change as the number of applicants for ICE (immigration enforcement) surges past 100,000. That makes it a patriot level event and ensures only the best of the best will get hired. The Democrats have launched a smear campaign, claiming “violence” against the border jumpers. Most of the hired will be border patrol agents.
As for the Democrats who walked out in Texas, they got their paychecks cut and were back within the week, apologizing, etc. One area where I side (partially) with the bad guys is when they rip off casinos. I watched a video on self-erasing chips to discover they have been used in slot machine scams. I don’t view gambling establishments as legitimate businesses and congratulate anybody who is smart enough to defeat them.
Which led me to a review of lottery winners. Most prominent are the ones who win and then lose. Their riches to rags story makes good social media. I’m not alone in noticing the people who get sued, murdered, attacked, scammed, harassed, and kidnapped were already losers to begin with. They never did manage money right, weren’t picky who they were friends with, and had plastered their personal data all over the Internet. On the other hand, I have noticed a reduction in the number of winners reported as bankrupts. I learned early living in Washington State how when rich people won, the money somehow melted into their existing framework. A framework that I studied very closely.
The worst threat I can see is getting sued once you are rich. Those born with money have that massive infrastructure to see them through. It’s because they earned the money (not always nicely) but learned how to protect it. The guy who got lucky has no idea and one of the populat scams is some stranger claiming he bought the ticket for you. The next common mistake is running out and buy a fancy house, then go broke on the upkeep. (The taxes on this place are paid by investments, not from drawing down a bank account.)
Third on the list appears to be trusting the wrong people. There is no cure for that. Myself, I watch my accounts all the time. That’s how I know I’ve spent $1,360.07 on gas this year and would notice any unexplained purchases. Always have a reserve, not like that Powerball winner last year who lost his uninsured mansion in the Palisades arson event.
Let me review the significance of my tax investments. They must be enough to net the tax payment, account for inflation, pay their own taxes, and keep the investment growing over time. And, being that I have not won any lotteries, this must be done with as little money as possible. I’d guess 99% of people have no clue how to manage money in this fashion.
Nothing later except a Gunsmoke rerun with no Dodge City or Festus. I’d say we’ve watched all the great episodes and now it is cheap drama. This week some saloon girls are kidnapped for the Mexican sex trade, showing this is nothing new. Of course the one who escapes is overcome with motherly instincts. This and the audiobook almost have me gagging. I’m just on disk two and find it horrifying that women actually think like this. “He’s got chocolate brown eyes and makes me tingle between the toes.” Fine, but this lady is over 30. Gag city.
